Autumn McCain, MPP, MS, LMFT
Practice Founder & Owner
Compassionate, Authentic, Skilled, Systemic.
My life's work is dedicated to empathetically supporting you on your healing journey. My own experiences with loss, tragedy, and pain led me to this profession. I believe in showing up authentically, and I hope you feel empowered to do the same.
A Licensed Therapist
Beyond my personal experiences, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Relational Healing and am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) for Trauma Recovery. I hold a Crisis Intervention certification from Cornell University and, alongside my husband, I am a Dynamic Marriage Facilitator. I am an alumna of Hampton University, Duke University, and Capella University, and I am committed to lifelong learning and continuous growth.
The Journey That Made Me
Curious about the life experiences I mentioned? I am a lifelong child welfare advocate, and a daughter of both military service and alcoholism. I am a mother who has experienced the loss of a stillborn child and two miscarriages, and I am the daughter of deceased parents. I often grapple with feelings of invisibility and not being enough. Yet, I am also a mother to three beautiful and talented children, a wife of over 23 years, and a woman of faith

Philosophy
You are always enough, exactly as you are. Just show up; you are welcomed and accepted here. This is a space of gentleness, empathy, compassion, and authenticity. We are here to literally and figuratively walk alongside you on your therapy journey, whether you are an individual, couple, or family.
Here in relationship and couples therapy, our focus isn't on what's wrong with you, but rather on what has happened to you, or the negative cycles you've become stuck in. Together, we will make sense of it.
Mutually, we will explore the brokenness, the pain, and the relational distress. All behavior has context, and fractures in relationships can be healed.
Outside of Work
When I'm not in the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, walking, writing, and traveling.
Next Steps
Choosing a therapist is a big decision. I offer a free 15-minute consultation to provide any information you need to decide if we are the right fit. I look forward to connecting with you.
